Autorica, profesorica povijesti i povijesti umjetnosti, u ovome radu je istražila život i naručiteljsku djelatnost hrvatske plemkinje, Helene Patačić, udovice Ručić (1628.-1701.), u drugoj polovici XVII. stoljeća. Spomenuta plemkinja obilježila je zagrebačku sredinu i okolna mjesta (Remete, Ksaver, Brdovec, Vukovina, Varaždin, Lepoglava, Brežice i dr.) svojom pobožnošću i istančanim ukusom, karakterističnim za širi, srednjoeuropski krug, te je svojom neprekidnom naručiteljskom i donatorskom djelatnošću u malenu zagrebačku sredinu dovela i neke od najznačajnijih majstora svojega vremena. Koristeći postojeću dostupnu literaturu i sačuvane izvore, te vlastitim istraživačkim radom, autorica je obuhvatila i sastavila prvi cjelokupni (danas poznati) popis ('opus') narudžbi Helene pl. Patačić, te prepisala njezinu oporuku, iz 1679. godine, koja se čuva u Nadbiskupskom arhivu u Zagrebu (ona se u ovome radu prvi put objavljuje, u cjelosti). Autorica u radu povezuje povijesno stanje Hrvatske u XVII. stoljeću s nekim značajnim djelima hrvatske povijesti umjetnosti, a navodi i neka od najznačajnijih imena hrvatske prošlosti (crkvena i svjetovna) - ljudi s kojima je istaknuta donatorica surađivala i živjela. Popis Heleninih naručiteljskih djela ('opus') izuzetno je velik, te svojim opsegom premašuje gotovo sve do danas poznate popise naručiteljskih djela hrvatskoga baroknog razdoblja.

Ovaj vrijedni rad mlade povjesničarke umjetnosti je njezin dotjerani i prošireni diplomski rad, nastao pod vodstvom izvanredne profesorice, dr. zn. Sanje Cvetnić, koji je obranjen 2006. godine na Odsjeku za povijest umjetnosti Filozofskoga fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.

Summary: The commissionary and patronal activities of Croatian noblewoman Helena Patačić.

In this paper, the author, a History and History of Art teacher, has researched the life and commissionary activity of Croatian noblewoman, Helena Patačić, dowager Ručić (1628-1701), in the second half of the XVIIth century. Patačić marked the Zagreb area and its environs (Remete, Ksaver, Brdovec, Vukovina, Varaždin, Lepoglava, Brežice etc.) with her devotion and refined good taste, which was characteristic in the wider, Central European sphere. With her continuous commissionary and patronal activity she managed to bring some of the most significant masters of art, at that time, to the small town of Zagreb.

Using already existent and accessible literature, as well as preserved sources in the archives in addition to her own research-work, the author composed the first complete (known today) opus of commissionary activities of noblewoman Helena pl. Patačić, as well as transcribing Helena's testament, dated 1679. The testament is preserved in the Metropolitan Archive in Zagreb. This is the first time that it has been published in its entirety.

In this paper, the author links the historical moments of Croatian XVIIth century with some significant Croatian works of art. She notes some of the most renowned names and persons (ecclesial and secular) of Croatia’s past - persons with whom the eminent patroness contacted and lived, in the same time and space. Helena's commissionary opus is extremely grand, so that its magnitude has surpassed almost all commissionary opuses known today of Croatian baroque period of art.

This paper is the result of scientific research conducted as part of a graduation exam at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb, in 2006, under the mentorship of  Dr. Sanja Cvetnić, Associate Prof. It represents an elaborate and extensive thesis made at the Department of the History of Art, at the said faculty.
